White Sunset (Annual Event)

White Sunset is DSAA’s signature annual charity event, an elegant evening of culture, community, and giving back, held in Dominica during Creole Festival week. Bringing together alumni, young professionals, government officials, artists, and community members from across the island and overseas. White Sunset celebrates Dominican Creole heritage while raising funds for meaningful causes at home.

Now in its fifth year, the event has grown into one of the most anticipated evenings on Dominica’s social calendar. White Sunset 2025 welcomed over 1,090 guests and raised proceeds that directly funded community impact grants supporting organizations making a difference on the ground in Dominica.

National Youth Medical & Healthcare Symposium

The National Youth Medical and Healthcare Symposium is one of DSAA’s flagship community programs, a full-day event that brings high school and Dominica State College students face-to-face with healthcare professionals, specialty booths, and breakout sessions covering careers across the medical field.

Held in partnership with the American Canadian School of Medicine (ACSM) and DSC, the Symposium gives students a firsthand look at what a career in healthcare is like, from medicine and nursing to pharmacy and bioengineering.

The next Symposium is planned for Monday, October 19, 2026, during Creole Festival week under the leadership of incoming Committee Chair Bernard Hurtault.

Planning is underway. Diaspora members attending Creole Festival week are encouraged to get involved.
