Dominica Infirmary / Home for the Aged Power washing of Grounds
In 2023, because of the success of White Sunset with a Hint of Creole 2022, and by popular demand, we decided to make White Sunset with a Hint of Creole, our signature annual Charity Event. The proceeds of White Sunset 2023, was a XCD$10,000 to Operation Youthquake, a home for disadvantaged youth.
In 2023, from the proceeds of White Sunset with a Hint of Creole, we also donated a total of XCD$10,000 to 6 students in financial hardship at the Dominica State College (DSC), with each student receiving XCD$1,666.67.
This year the we the Dominica SiFoCol Alumni Association (DSAA) held an Inaugural National Youth Health Care & Medical Symposium on October 21, 2024, in collaboration with the American Canadian School of Medicine (ACSOM), and the Dominican State College (DSC), where we hosted the first National Youth Health Symposium in Portsmouth at ACSOMโs campus. We brought together 250 students collectively from Dominica State College (DSC) and all the high schools in Dominica seniors together, with health care professionals from the various subspecialties in medicine in a forum where information can be obtained and exchanged.
DSAA has selected Dominica Association of Persons with Disabilities as a beneficiary of White Sunset with a Hint of Creole 2024 and donated four laptops, a printer, cost of a tutor and $4,938.90. Dominica Association of Persons with Disabilities ICT Program, Empowers persons with disabilities through computer literacy and social media skills.
DSAA has also selected Circle of Friends Inc., as a beneficiary of White Sunset with a Hint of Creole 2024 and donated $10,000. Circle of Friends Inc., Trains Special Education Teachers and Parents of Children with Disabilities on the use of the Sexual Health Education Curriculum (SHEC).
DSAA has selected Dominica State College (DSC), as a beneficiary of White Sunset with a Hint of Creole 2024. The Dominica State College (DSC) scholarship grant totaling XCD$12,000 will go equally to six students experiencing financial hardship.
To date, DSAA has donated over XCD$250,000, in cash or in kind, to causes in Dominica since its inception!
DSAAโs signature annual Charity Event, White Sunset with a Hint of Creole has contributed over XCD$500,000 in economic activity in Dominica!
Dominica SiFoCol Alumni Association (DSAA) will present to the following students selected by Dominica State College (DSC), our 2025 Financial Hardship Scholarship Grant of $12,000, $2,000 per student, at the Dominica State College (DSC) today, Tuesday, February 25th, 2025, from 11:45 am to 12:30 pm, in Room BC4 at Upper Campus. The entire DSC student body along with all DSAA members are invited to attend.
