Our Mission

Our mission is to inspire and guide the next generation of healthcare professionals by offering a comprehensive overview of the medical field. The symposium aims to create awareness among young Dominicans about the vast array of opportunities in healthcare, align with ACSOM’s mission of preparing physicians with a commitment to primary care and global health, and to foster a network of support and mentorship for students aspiring to enter the medical profession.

Objectives

1. Exposure to Medical Opportunities: We aim to create awareness among students about the diverse opportunities within the medical field, encouraging them to consider various career paths in healthcare.
2. Comprehensive School Tour: Students will experience a tour of ACSOM facilities, giving them a firsthand look at the state-of-the-art educational resources and medical training environments.
3. Interactive Panel Discussions: Led by professionals from ACSOM and the Dominica SiFoCol Alumni Association (DSAA), these discussions will showcase various facets of the medical profession, fostering engagement and interest among participants.
4. Networking Opportunities: The symposium provides a platform for students to connect with healthcare professionals, educators, and institutions, building lasting relationships that extend beyond the event.
